Head to Toe

Head to Toe: November 2008

November was prolific but not, productive but not.  Definitely lots of stash used up, which means I'll go on a terrible yarn bender in the New Year.  Here is the tally for the month:

  • Amy's Cotton Fleece pullover
  • Laurel's Cotton Fleece pullover
  • Wee spiral yoked sweater for coworker
  • Gull Lace socks in Seacoast Handpainted
  • Muscari socks in Trekking XXL
  • Unoriginal in 2 strands Cascade Pima Tencel

With all of the odds and ends I've been knitting up, I now have almost no odd balls of leftovers.  Cotton Fleece?  Gone.  Lamb's Pride?  Gone.  Pima Tencel?  Gone.  I do, however, have several "sweater amounts" of yarns in the stash roo, for me and for others.

Looking at my tallies from recent months, I'm really glad I opted out of the 52 Pair Plunge II.  I'm having far too much fun with other things.

Welcome December, and happy holiday knitting, all!

September's Head to Toe

Before my blog goes ballistic and starts saying unspeakably cruel things about me, I'll try to get at least reasonably caught up.  A head to toe seems a good start.

June's Head to Toe

You blog reader types are an interesting sort.  When I fail to post, you don't visit.  [Smart, the whole lot of you].  I'll try to catch up, but you should know that my absence is not limited to the blogosphere, but also shows on my message boards and even (gasp!) Ravelry.

Here's what popped off the needles in June.  I shall skip the niceties of formatting, for fear they will crash Typepad.  [note to Typepad:  you still suck]

2 unbloggable pairs of socks, for testing, editing and the like

Monicas for 2 friends and one daughter

Pretty, pretty blue Pomatomus from a Fleece Artist Mill End

Sheesh, is that it?

Head to Toe for too-cool May

Pardon the backdating (again), but it's been a wild ride of a time.  More specifically, a meetings in the city - kid turning 5 - dance recital - barfed on at the walk-in clinic - trip to the ER with 5 year old - friend and son being baptized  - daycare graduation - birthday party at the hair salon - first night of summer soccer kind of time.

Do my excuses suffice?

It's also been a big month for stolen late-night knitting moments, so I've been producing, albeit at a somewhat slowed pace.  Here's what fell off the needles in May.

Socks:

  • Broad Spiral Ribs in Estelle Arequipa
  • Coriolis Socks with Garter Rib cuff in Seacoast Handpainted

Tiny stuff:

  • Sweater and socks in Panda Wool
  • Sweater and socks in Lucy Neatby Celestial Merino

Hat:

  • Chemo cap in Panda Wool

In secret stuff, I sent a sock submission to Lark Books in May.  While it won't be a part of the book, they've had enough good submission to run a pattern-only sock club, and they want to use my design for that!

More posts coming, my sweets, I promise.

April's head to toe, by the blog

Dumbass Deb is still playing the working mom, and claims to be too busy to play with me.  (Whoever heard of a charity luncheon as an excuse?  Sheesh.)

Head to toe for April likely contains some unblogged items, but I'll get the daft cow webmistress to catch up as soon as possible.

Socks:

  • little Pomatomus for Mikayla
  • Upstream Monkeys in Colinette Jitterbug
  • Marilinda in Opal solid
  • Toe-ups in STR light, Mist colourway

Sweaters:

  • Cables and Os!  (Are you tired of that bitch her babbling on about it yet?)

Scarves:

  • Lace Ribbons in Fleece Artist merino sock mill end
  • Jen's slubby scarf
  • Tube scarf in STR, Mudslide and Stormy Weather

Hats:

  • Le Slouch in Rowanspun aran

Thanks for the words of support.  I think Deb needs to know where her readers stand on her treatment of me.  Now I'm off to pink-eye her pillow.

Simply a Show and Tell

With so many finished objects and so little time to share them, I bring you March:  the first week.  You'll find this post completely devoid of wit, wisdom and humour.  You've been warned.

First off, I inadvertently over-formatted my last post to the point that I can't re-edit it.  Missing from last month's head to toe is the mother and daughter clogs I worked for a coworker and her little girl.  I forgot to photograph the finished pairs and deleted the progress photos, so if you're not on Ravelry to look me up, just imagine clogs, just like the other eleventy thousand pairs I've done in the last year.

The diaper bag for the mum of little Lauren is now done, and really cute.  Toothache cute.  Diabetes-inducing cute.  I think you get the picture, so here are a few more you can click for a larger view.

The Cashmiracle sweater, AKA the 4-day sweater, has been worn several times already.  The fit is customized to the point that it makes me giddy with glee to don it in the morning.  I'm just that simple.  Click for bigger.

I started a Swallowtail Shawl for a charity event, and while I have very little done, I'm still excited to see it taking shape.  Yarn is Schaefer Anne, and I love it so.

March_014

I worked another Urchin, this one with a matching scarf, and it really made me think of a certain coworker, so I gifted it as a highly random, very early and very late birthday present.  (Hi Lou!  This one's for you!)

There's more, much more.  Perhaps I'll bang off another post when the wee ones get to bed.  See you soon!
